Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are removable, transparent trays used to move teeth gradually. For suitable cases, they offer a discreet orthodontic option while allowing the aligners to be removed for eating and daily cleaning.
Aligners may be used for a range of tooth-position and bite concerns, from relatively simple crowding or spacing to selected more complex movements. Not every orthodontic problem is best managed with aligners, so assessment and planning are important.
Your teeth are recorded with scans or impressions and a staged treatment plan is created. You wear each set of aligners for the prescribed period before moving to the next set. Consistent wear is important because the trays only work while they are in your mouth.
Regular reviews allow us to check that the teeth are tracking as planned and make adjustments if needed. Once active movement is complete, retainers are generally required to help maintain the new tooth positions.
Your dentist will give you specific instructions. Clear aligner treatment generally requires consistent daily wear, with removal mainly for eating, drinking anything other than water, and oral hygiene.
Some people notice a temporary change when they first start wearing aligners. This commonly improves as the tongue adapts.
