Dental Implants Treatment

Dental Implants are an ideal treatment option to replace missing teeth. Our dentists are experts in dental implant surgery, providing high quality, lifelike implants that look and feel great.

We offer the technologically advanced computer guided implant treatment for more accurate placement of implants using a minimally invasive procedure.

Unlike with dentures which are a removable treatment option, dental implants are permanent. Implants can be used to replace one or many teeth within the jaw.

Our Process for Dental Implants:

The procedure involves using tooth roots made of titanium to which a dental crown is attached. These metallic anchors act as root substitutes, which are surgically placed into the jawbone; the bone then fuses with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth.

Small posts called abutments are then attached to the implant which in turn supports the implant crown. Dental implants can be used to replace a single lost tooth or many missing teeth.

Implants also help preserve facial structure, preventing bone loss, which occurs when teeth are missing for extended period of time.

Step 1 - A 3D X-Ray of Your Teeth & Jaw

Our highly experienced implant dentists use 3D X-rays to determine how much bone is available for the keyhole placement of your dental implants. For this reason, our practice is equipped with the latest 3D Cone Beam X-ray technology so you have the convenience of doing your x-rays in-house, without the need to travel into the city. Insurance rebates are also applied to all x-rays making the cost much cheaper for 3D x-rays done in-house by our friendly and caring team.

At Hillier Road Dental & Implant Centre, your dental implants are made using the best quality material at local Australian labs to ensure the highest standard of care. We make use of the latest in guided implant placement technology to ensure the most accurate placement of implants.

Step 2 - How We Digitally Plan Dental Implant and Provide Treatment

We use the latest technology known as M-soft to digitally plan the keyhole placement of your dental implant using a surgical guide with extreme precision. This process is also known as Mguide.

Some Advantages of Using a Surgical Guide:

  • Increased accuracy.
  • Reduces surgery time
  • Reduces trauma, pain, and swelling for patients.
  • Shorted recovery time for patients.
  • Consistent optimal implant placement, resulting in predictable successful results care.

Implant FAQs

When can I get my tooth on top?

Once the implant has been placed, your own natural bone takes 3 months to fuse to your dental implant making it one with the bone and therefore rock solid ready for it to be loaded with a tooth or in some cases multiple teeth.

What is the Treatment time frame?

  • 1-hour appointment for initial consultation ($68- LESS after dental insurance rebate) and with 3D dental Xray ($100 to $200 and significantly LESS after dental insurance rebate).
  • Keyhole procedure is usually LESS than 20mins per dental implant
  • 3 Months after a 30min dental mould impression is taken to send to the lab to design the tooth to be placed on top of the dental implant.
  • 2 weeks after the impression appointment, tooth is ready to be placed on implant which is generally a 20 minute appointment.

Please refer to implant page on hillier website for an intro into our work.

What is the Recovery time and is there any pain?

Very minimal recovery time is required post implant treatment due to the flapless nature of keyhole surgery making the procedure efficient, minimally painful post op. Patients constantly report being able to return to work or school.

A soft diet is recommended after the procedure for up to 1 week and antibiotics are prescribed alongside a mouthwash also for 1 week. Minimal irritation and tenderness may be experienced.

How much does it cost to (price range)

All prices listed are before Private Health insurance rebates, hence significant reductions in overall price is usually seen with dental insurance that covers MAJOR Dental.

The placement of the screw can range from $1,300 to $2,000 LESS after insurance rebates. The variation depends on difficulty, location and whether a surgical guide is required.

The final tooth on top of the implant that is anchored and torqued into the implant varies from $2,200 to $2,800, LESS after insurance rebates.
